Compare this review to, say, the one at Reverse Shot (an online publication I quite like and support), where the writers are basically, "Where's the plot? None of this makes any sense," and that's it. They can't just say, "It's silly, and doesn't make sense, and that's ok with me." Which is something that an honest critic needs to be able to say, I think.StephenMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16588260639227694557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-32718205110989956302012-05-03T23:17:58.219-05:002012-05-03T23:17:58.219-05:00I'm sure someone out there knows more about th...I'm sure someone out there knows more about this than I, but that exact scene was part of a moderate controversy in the U.K., where a leper advocacy group complained that Aardman was being insensitive, and so in the finished film, that line has been re-dubbed "plague boat". And if it is possible for animated men with clay mouths to have out-of-sync dialogue, well, that shot sure did look like it was badly post-dubbed.Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09491952893581644049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-34876995941373445602012-05-03T20:25:52.675-05:002012-05-03T20:25:52.675-05:00I realize this maybe isn't a hugely rational r...I realize this maybe isn't a hugely rational reason for avoiding a movie, but the part in the preview where the guy goes "we don't have any gold--this is a leper ship!" and then his arm falls off kinda made my skin crawl and caused me to really not want to see this.GeoX, one of the GeoX boys.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14658452994152399308noreply@blogger.com
