You actually encourage me to rethink the film, something I wouldn't have expected. <br /><br />My only real disagreement comes in the fact that Deniro's character is SO manifestly unlikable and unsympathetic that it's distasteful to watch. There's no appealing arc, no saving moment. And you might say that Scorcese meant for that to be the case, simply to subvert our expectations.
