Tim conlon does make alex a likeable character, and courtney taylor is fun as the wise cracking mary lou. It's worth noting that mary lou is quite powerful, demonstrating powers that would make freddy kruger or even pinhead take pause. Rare for a supernatural villian, mary lou actually has a romance with the films hero.L wintershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00502380341741038390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-20901905166065542182013-08-24T00:04:08.668-05:002013-08-24T00:04:08.668-05:00Well, if you thought this was bad... prepare yours...Well, if you thought this was bad... prepare yourself for Prom Night IV. I don't even think I made it all the way through.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04634087887519608773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-56891567770869475502013-08-23T17:58:11.727-05:002013-08-23T17:58:11.727-05:00Even as I was watching it, I felt like I should ha...Even as I was watching it, I felt like I should have been liking it more, and I think it comes down to this: the first and last 20 minutes are great, but the middle is just one joke over and over again, and it's a joke I didn't like the first time. So the longer the movie went on, the further it got on my bad side.

But as far as '90s slashers go, it's certainly not one of the worst. Probably a taste issue more than anything else.Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09491952893581644049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-66940712856346427172013-08-23T02:49:21.255-05:002013-08-23T02:49:21.255-05:00Wow, I thought you'd like this more than you d...Wow, I thought you'd like this more than you did. Keeping in my mind I haven't seen this movie in a good decade and change, I really remember enjoying it a helluva a lot. You're spot on about the ending being the most memorable part; being trapped in the fifties as a nightmare version of hell really stuck with me.
Maybe I should rewatch this and reassess it but this was one of the seminal slasher films I watched in my youth that put me on the path of my life long love of slashers. I particularly remember Alex's discussion about the "other woman" with his father being hilarious.

Well, this will be one of the slashers I watch this halloween. Hilarious review Tim.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04634087887519608773noreply@blogger.com
