Thanks for sharing.

I do, however, have to correct your assertion that campground slashers only came about after 1977. "Bay of Blood", a giallo feature from 1971, may not take place at a "camp" but it involves campers by a lake who are knocked off in various grisly ways. People cite "Bay of Blood" as being the proto-slasher classic and it's relevance to the FT13th-esque setting of the lakeside is all too strong.IkoOvohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03676683079054324535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-30992530281530941492010-04-26T15:33:48.036-05:002010-04-26T15:33:48.036-05:00have you ever noticed that although we have told s...have you ever noticed that although we have told scary stories around the summer camp campfires for decades, that the movie industry only built a genre on this theme beginning in 1980 with Friday the 13th? The genre being the "summer camp slasher" genre.

Also interesting to note is that these movies never were made until after the Girl Scout murders of 1977 in Oklahoma at Camp Scott.

Check this out:
www.girlscoutmurders.comherrweaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13668793394871990050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812333.post-64274757034611931812009-08-30T20:02:37.493-05:002009-08-30T20:02:37.493-05:00I'll disagree with your assessment of SC2 only...I'll disagree with your assessment of SC2 only insofar as I think it is sufficiently breastful. But lame? And then some. I'm eager to read your next installment and see if time has been kind to it. I just might not of liked it at the time because there weren't enough breasts in it.
P.S. I just gave a shout out to Summer of Blood on Rotten tomatoes. Hope it gets you some hits.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04634087887519608773noreply@blogger.com
