I assume that Kevin Olson, of the lovely blog Hugo Stiglitz Makes Movies, won't be too put out if I do a bit of advertising on his behalf: later this month, he'll be hosting his third annual(ish) Italian Horror Blogathon, which has consistently been a fun way for me personally to unwind after all the art movie seriousness of the Chicago Film Festival, and is one of my favorite things about being a movie blogger in October. So I'll be taking part, anyway, and I hope some of you will join along. Details at Kevin's blog, though it's pretty straightforward: write something about Italian horror, between the 24th and 31st. Fun for all ages!

Thanks for the plug, Tim. I've got some good stuff lined up on my end (some titles should look familiar to you), and I'm eager to see what people come up with this year. I'll give my annual plug for someone to consider Soavi's THE CHURCH. I liked it better than his DELIRIA (which I love) or CEMETERY MAN (his most popular film). I don't think anyone has tackled this one yet. I'm always interested in what people have to say about Soavi's work. Anyway, plug over.
Thanks again, Tim.
As it happens, I've got THE CHURCH on my to-watch list for this month, so I'd be quite happy to contribute a review of that to this blogathon.
